How to De-Gas BeansThe website owner goes a get further than I do in de-gassing beans. I may try some of her additional techniques, we'll see.

Sherlew what's going on with your sprouts? You said you started your first batch already.

I just did some research on making salad dressing. I found something that said 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar. Maybe I'll use this as a starting point 3 parts olive oil to 1 part lemon juice.

What I will do different with my next batch of sprouts is not to let the tails get so long and give them the "bath" (boil for about 5 minutes) before eating or freezing.

I just microwaved them for three minutes and that seemed enough cooking. They were pretty tasty. I started another batch this morning. They're good with a bit of onion powder and cheese, too.

I started my 2nd batch last night. I started with a 1/4 cup of lentils this time. Last night I noticed in the instruction that came with the sprouter it says not to freeze lentil sprouts but I thought that someone in a youtube video said you could. Did you try any of yours raw? I did and did not like the taste

I ordered a book on growing sprouts from BAM and it already came in. I plan on going and picking it up tomorrow.

I little bit on the dry growing method. The instructions with our sprouter mentions the dry growing method and says they get all the water they need from the first soak.

I did and did not like the taste I tried a few raw out of curiosity, can't say that I'm fond of them that way. They are much better cooked. My Google search came up with a few pages where people say they freeze their lentils after cooking them. linkI guess one of us can try freezing a small amount for awhile, then thaw them out and see how they are afterwards.

Sherlew do you swing your sprouts around? Do you use a stocking or mesh bag?

No, I don't swing my sprouts. They seem to do OK with a good rinse and draining.

I tried my 2nd batch today. The smaller tail is much better. I boiled them for 5 minutes then mixed up EVOO & lemon juice and put on them. I think next time I might try EVOO with salt & pepper. I froze part of my batch after boiling.
