Here is a video that compares the two methods.

I just made a quick pull packet of toilet paper using Cottonelle ULTRA Comfort Care which is 2 ply. It seems to have worked out much better then when I tried it with single ply. I put it in a quart freezer Ziploc bag which does seem to big to big for it. I think they make pint size bags which I will try an get soon.

Yeah, they do make pint sized. I was wondering if the quart size would really be big enough.

I bought some pint size Ziploc today and they are better for the toilet paper quick pull config then the quart but not perfect. It looks like the quart size bags are better if you are going with quarter size sheets of paper towels and the pint size bags are better if you are going with 2 ply toilet paper.

This is what I got from Campmor today. I hope the ICE trekkers last longer and works better then the cheaper YAKTRAX that I had before. Sherlew do you have some sort of ice traction devises for your shoes? I bet Tom does. It's obvious that they are making Esbit cubes differently. Years ago when I bought them they smelled like fish to high heaven. I seen someone say in a youtube video that they dip them in wax now. The other 2 things are long underwear and a new type of winter pants that I'm going to try.

I don't have any traction devices for my shoes, but then it doesn't snow or freeze much over here. Tom probably does have something like that, though.
Hopefully the Esbit cubes are dipped in wax. If not, maybe you could try dipping one in wax yourself and see how it works.

Wonder if I'll get around to trying this? Don't they sell non-stick foil and wouldn't that work for this? Since I'm not going to visit my mother today I am thinking that when I get back I will give this a try and do some cleaning. I'll be making a lemon poppy seed muffin. I have everything together already. I will be using one of my older STINKY Esbit cubes to get rid of it. I will try to take some photos and post them. The worst thing that can happen will be if my neighbors bother me while cook it outside.

I hope they leave you alone. Do you have some new ones that might not smell as bad? I'd use those instead and save the stinky ones for the trail.

I don't think they smell when they are burning just when siting around.

This is where I baked it. Outside of my apartment.

This is it after an hour and 2 1/2 Esbit cubes. I dry baked it. The toothpick comes out much cleaner now.

Looks like it turned out fairly well. How did it taste?

Not really. When I opened it up you could tell it still wasn't done on the inside. I put it in the microwave for a few minutes to try an fix it. I just ate it. Next time I could try wet baking or cutting back on the batter.

I'd try cutting back on the batter first. Looks like the heat isn't getting to the middle of the muffin properly.
