They lowered the chance for rain today Got my training pack loaded and it weights about 19 lbs. Wish me luck. Wonder how much it will do me in?

Good luck, Don. I think you'll do OK. Also, even if it doesn't rain that much, it'll a good trial run.

It went OK. I didn't run. I was hoping to hike it without getting hurt. I carried it from the nursing home my mother is in to the mall. I wish I would have had my camera. I ran a cross several turkey vultures very very up close. I would have gotten some kick-ass photos of them.

Ah, the things one misses capturing when the camera is left at home. Sorry you missed that opportunity. Glad that it went well. Also, it's probably best to get back into this gradually.

I ordered a few more things yesterday. I have to put a little more work in on my cloths as well as other things. One of the things I just ordered is a Platypus Big Zip LP Hydration Reservoir. www.campmor.com/Product___83531 I've never used a drinking tube system before. I also ordered a pair of what is suppose to be very good wool socks to try.

I hope they're very good socks. I've often wondered how well those drink systems work.

I keep seeing good reviews about the socks. It looks like they may come with a life time guaranty.

There is even a pressurized hydration system available now.

There is even a pressurized hydration system available now. That's interesting. I wonder how they hold up against the original variety.

lol I love the sock monkey. The best thing, though, is that they're made in the U.S.

These are the items I got from Campmor today. I will be trying out and testing the Darn Tough Socks and probably ordering more. I never had or tried a hydration system before this is my first. They have been around a while and have undergone improvements. The other 2 items you see are snow stakes meant to be used with a tent but that is not what I plan on using them for. Long distance hikers use them as a poop trowel. I ordered one but the sent 2.
