I was just watching a video and it said that parsley and mint hate each other. What does that mean?

My miner's lettuce has its secondary leaves. I was searching for the best indoor vegetables to plant last night and here I found something that I over looked before. Supposedly BEANS are one of the best vegetables to grow indoors. I bought 6 packs of BEAN seeds today no 2 a like.

Sherlew do you grow beans and if so what can you tell me about them? We've grown black beans in the past from seeds. Hubby just puts them in their own little place in the garden outside. We do compost and he adds a little fish bone meal to the soil before planting, too. It provides potassium and phosphorous. The weather is a bit too cool for them here, though. They like warmer weather and direct sunlight.

Look at what happened to my Miner's Lettuce? I suspect that I am over watering it but I also see a few teeny tiny little flies around it. I suspect that I am over watering my shallots also a few of there leaf tip shriveled up.

What I'm thinking with the Miner's Lettuce is that the center of the window box stays damper then the ends. I'm just guessing. Could those little flying bugs have done this?

For the tiny flying bugs I going to try what Pepper Joe says in this video. I bought another spray bottle today and in a day or two I will spray it with soapy water.

I doubt that the bugs did this. I'd check the drainage on that window box. Also, how many times are you watering per week? According to the chart in this article, twice a week should be enough.

Do the bugs seem to be drawn to the other plants?
