My radishes are still growing nicely. They are just fallen over. I'm thinking now that they don't have damping off and that they fell over from being to "leggy". I was looking at other videos where people grew radishes that weren't leggy trying to find differences and the one that I found was that their soil was much more nutrient rich. Some videos say it has to do with the amount of light the plant gets. Yeah, lighting was another thing that I saw, but found more and better info on the damping off.

Yes, the posts I found online seemed to indicate that lowering the light might help.

I found myself thinking, though, that it made more sense to rule out something in the soil first.

I just lowered my light way down but it's probably to late.

Looking at my seed collection trying to figure out what to plant next? Arugula and miner's lettuce may be at the top of the list.

I currently have 2 sizes of window boxes. The smaller ones are 5 1/4 x 12 and the larger ones are 6 x 20. So what do I plant in which? The miner's lettuce may not require a grow light so it will be in the interior of the apartment where there really isn't any space at all so it will probably be planted in a small window box. The arugula will not make up the bulk of my salads. I just want to add some to them. So it will probably be planted in a small window box also. The larger window boxes might be used for my lettuces.

That sounds like a good plan.

When I got back home today the radishes looked a lot worse. I close the place up to good and I think they got cooked. Yes that is how bad this place is.

Oops, I think a timer might be a good idea. Hubby uses something like this on his aquarium lights. What's the amperage rating on your lights?

The heat isn't from the lights its the whole apartment. It's an oven. This is most likely how I'm going to die.

Is there another place you can move to? I'd take a look. It's long past time you got away from that apartment and those neighbors.

If moving isn't an option, I'd try making a simple air conditioner there should be one online that's do-able.

Here we go. I found something that's pretty simple and shouldn't cost too much to make. You can find the copper tube at a good price on Amazon.
