We should talk about how the Narco Lounger in the episode Patches In The Sky (I think) from the sci-fi series LEXX relates to Lucid Dreaming.

OK, I found it on Youtube. It wasn't on the disk set I borrowed late last year. I should be able to watch at least part of it this morning.

I was able to watch all of it this morning, but then had to go to work.
What stood out the most is the fact that the dreamers in the machine seemed to have little to no control of their dreams. Stan and Xev did not seem to anyway. Giggerota, who was part of Stan's dream, took control. I really was hoping that Xev would have been able to take Giggerota on when she entered Stan's dream, but alas no. The fellow who entered the machine before them may have had a bit more control, but then it wasn't his first time, either. To be able to determine this for certain, we'd have to know precisely what he'd hoped to dream and whether he actually wanted control. Just watching this, though, we can only guess.
I find myself wondering if some of the other people who would have used the machine in the past had been able to control their dreams. Not all would have, of course, since the thing's owner had to pull some out.
I also find the fact that the operator had to attach himself to the rail before turning the machine on.

YAY, you watched it! I love that actor from the Red Green Show. Lucid Dreaming isn't always 100% control. You could achieve lucid dreaming then slip back to regular dreaming. Lucid dreaming is kind of tenuous. I thought that we should talk about this because of the foretold up coming advancements in technology. There are already science shows on TV that say science is on the verge of hacking peoples brains, reading thoughts, and recording dreams.

He said he bought the Narco Lounger as used surplus and 790 said about how bad of shape it is in. I have heard it said that one of the things dreams are about is resolving issues. Part of what Stan wanted nicer dreams and he was very troubled by somethings he had done.

Yes, his dreams were inspired by guilt. The viewer (who hasn't seen subsequent episode) does wonder if he'll be able to keep to his pledge of non-violence. The machine it's self is really neat. I rather liked the interchangeable crystal ball-like bits. The storage for the bodies is rather creepy, too. It looks like the dreamer is in a form of suspended animation or cryogenic state. I love Kai's solution, too.

I was dreaming this morning that I had a long pole and was able to use it to say aloft while traveling for as long as I wanted. It was like a combination of pole vaulting and po-go sticking. It was very fun. I seen yesterday that there is a new commerical that shows a group of people floating along with there feet just off of the ground. It was for a university advertising to train for careers instead of jobs. Remember when I was saying about the different forms of flying and that was one of them and what a visual impact flying that way has on people?

Yes, and apparently the advertisers know this as well. That was a great dream. I hardly have any flying dreams. Wish I had more of them.

Last night I had a series of not so good dreams from which I kept waking then going back to sleep. It seemed to really help with being able to do some lucid dreaming. Towards morning I was able to turn a bad dream around and also do some flying.

I got stuck in a bad dream this morning. I could not make myself wake up. I was able to take some control and do some flying but I was having some difficulty doing so. I could not get the speed and height that I wanted.

Sorry to hear about the bad dream, but glad that you were able to take some control. I hope that your next dreaming session is better.
