I hardly get any sleep any more let alone dreams but every now and then when I'm allowed a half hour or so of sleep I some times get a very short dream and about 2 or 3 nights ago it was a lucid one. Aren't they wonderful? There are some culture that believe that the waking state is also a dream state. Wouldn't it be GREAT if you could crack the code and make this dimension lucid as well?

I used to have a book on the subject and the dreams are of course very real.
If you keep a dream journal of all your dreams next to your bed and write down everything you remember about your dreams and ask yourself all the time even in real life if you are waking or sleeping, you will be able to have more lucid dreams and eventually control them.
You also should lie very still if you awaken from a dream and try to recall every detail in it, as movement make you forget, and then write it in the journal. It does work, but takes a lot of time and dedication to get results.

Being very real isn't the cool part. The cool part is taking control and being able to do wonderful magical things.

I hate it when I finally get to catch up on some sleep and I have bad dreams It happens to often. Well last night towards the end of my bad dream I was able to catch myself and do a little lucid dreaming and get in some flying There are some cultures that think that our conscious state is also a dream state. Wouldn't it be GREAT if we could do the same thing when we are a wake as when we are lucid dreaming?

Yeah, that would be good. I've never done any lucid dreaming and tend to be caught up in my dreams thinking they are reality. Fortunately I don't usually have bad dreams.

There are many different ways to fly when you are dreaming. There is the Superman way of course which is the thing that probably everybody thinks of first. It can actually be very scary itself. A few of the other ways I fly are. Just standing upright with my feet an inch or two above the ground and floating a long. This is awesome. It is very relaxing for me and scares or intimidates those in my dream that see me doing it. I think that I seen it done in a few movies and it is very scary to see. Another one is. Many years ago there was a commercial that ran for a long time where this guy is sitting and driving without a car. It is just me sitting and driving / flying a long without a vehicle. I have done that many a times. It is very fun. ;D

That does sound like fun. I've had a few flying dreams as well. Kind of remember one when I was just floating in a standing position and another was the Superman style. Neither one was scary. Here lately I just seem to visit places.

When I was allowed to get some sleep this morning I got a little bit of flying in. People that live in basements, ground floors, and first floors use drapes and blinds the way in which they are intended but most people who live higher up don't.

Glad to hear that you got to do a bit of "flying." I hope it was pleasant.

What methods have you used to be 'awake' in your dreams and how difficult did you find control to master?

Sorry Tom it took so long for me to reply. I don't really have a method. It's still kind of a happenstance thing but it does seem to come a bit easier after you've done it a few times. Maybe its a gift from God for all the torture and what little sleep I'm allow to get he is saying here have some fun with what little you get. I don't think that I can say that I'm able to do it at will yet.

That is OK, PD, I am sorry you don't sleep much, I am the same when I have to work the next morning currently and have always had lots of both stresses and weird sleep patterns.
How often or how many times have you been bole to lucid dream?
I imagine it is very possible by the way for some people to naturally be better at lucid dreaming then others...
