Astronomical Sketching was becoming a catch-all for all of my art stuff so we decided to start this separate thread.

This is the book that I am working my way through. The paper on the left shows (if you can see them) the exercises that I have done so far. Can you see the drawing of the ukulele?

I first learned about pencil boards the other day and I just made one for my sketchbook out of a flexible cutting board (some times called a chopping mat). I cut it to fit perfectly in my sketchbook. OMG, they are so pricy if you buy them and may not fit perfectly what you want them for. You can get a pack of flexible cutting mats at a dollar store and cut one to whatever size and shape you want. I have used them over the years for many things. I didn't even have to go out and buy any because I had some on hand.

Did you hear him mention juggling? Yes I did, neat. Also, even though he says that the best way to learn to draw is to just do it, he still has lots of good tips.

I am looking forward to getting back to nature journaling. What I did years ago was mostly like keeping a written log but now I want to do illustrated ones.

WOW lots of cool info. I'm still in the process of watching it but learned several things already. Stem data sets, how to count large number of things.

Here's my new pantograph. The customs slip says toy. It looks better then I thought it would.

Yes, it looks like it should work well. I guess whoever classified the item didn't know what else it could be classified with.
