These weren't like the communications we usually think of. Scientists studying ‘entangled’ photons found that these tiny things can 'communicate between each other at a distance, but the scientists weren't actually sending each other messages. Basically these experiments study things at a quantum level, which is very different from things on our larger scale. Physicists spooked by faster-than-light information transfer

People might eventually come up with something from these studies, but it'll probably be far in the future.
