I did a brief study of Ceres last night on the internet. It has a few strange goings ons. What about that light from it that was seen?

The lights from that crater. They've found quite a bit of cryovolcanism there which may explain the lights, or not as the case may be.

Last night I was trying to think what mining might be like for extraterrestrials that are more advanced then us. Destroying a planet and going through the rubble might be the best way to get what they want.

If what they want is way below the surface of the planet. Hopefully such an extraterrestrial civilization has rules against doing this to inhabited planets

I hope so. Kind of like cracking a nut. I was just thinking and kicking things around. There may be plenty of asteroids out there made of whatever metal or material they want.
