I came up with a good idea last nite. I think in this video it mentions some of the complaints about the book HUNT FOR THE SKINWALKER being the lack of data and photos or illustrations. Last night I thought I could try drawing my own illustrations to go with the book. I could try to draw a dire wolf and show its size compared to a human and a modern wolf.

A hyena like creature keeps being mentioned. I seen a TV show about this some time ago. Someone did kill one and had it mounted so they did and maybe still exist.

I looked up about dire wolves and they really aren't very much different or bigger then modern wolves. Could what they have seen and encountered have been an american hyena? There is another animal that comes to my mind and that is a bear-dog Amphicyonidae. The size seems to match what they say in the book better.

Many times when I am in the parking lot of Walmart looking at all of the out of shape and over weight people I think of how unnatural it seems all that slow moving vulnerable pray and no predator. It must be even more so out west were the cattle ranches are. Something in some way is beginning to fill the nitch.
