I only have one chart that shows the chain. It's in our NIGHTWATCH book. CHART 10 on page 109.

Can you find another map that shows where Tabby's Star is?

I just added 2 thing to my mission map and check list. Right above where Tabby'd Star is there is an easy triple star for binocs; one orange, two blue. I put Tabby's Star on my map & list. Even if I can't see it it's nice to know about where it is.

Just added the names Shedir and Caph. The star just above to the right of Sheir is a double star.

As you can see my mission maps aren't static they are dynamic and keep changing. Today I added degree measurements to the SUMMER TRIANGLE map. None of my printed charts has degree measurements so I will probably be adding them to my maps a lot. I am working on adding the Pacman Nebula to my CASSIOPEIA map. Most of my charts it isn't on.

Just made a new mission map. This one has the Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Canes Venatici, part of Draco. Number one on the list is Mizar & Alcor.

Date: Sept.28,2016 Time:03:00 ~ 04:00 Equipment: BUSHNELL 10X50 Legacy Binoculars, ZERO GRAVITY CHAIR. General Subject(s): CASSIOPEIA, PEGASUS, ANDROMEDA, TRIANGULUM, ORION. Notes: Viewed ANDROMEDA for the first time! Starhopped from Shedir in CASSIOPEIA to Mirach in PEGASUS then backtracked to find M31 (ANDROMEDA Galaxy). Had a hard time locating TRIANGULUM but found it. Looked for but did not find M33. On departing briefly viewed ORION, M42, and PLEIADES (M45). I got a little cold, mostly my hands. Must dress warmer next time.

Thinking about planing observing sessions by making a list of mission objectives. First one one the list for next time is CASSIOPEIA Eta.

That how to do hand measurement of the sky really came in handy last nite with finding and verifying TRIANGULUM.

Sorry you didn't see M33. Hope you have better luck later.

Date: Oct. 07, 2016 Friday Time: 00:00 ~ 01:00 Equipment: Meade Infinity 60mm AZ Refractor Telescope, Eyepieces 26mm MA (31x) and 15mm Plossl (53x), Rio LayFlat Ultimate Backpack Chair. General Subject(s): SUMMER TRIANGLE Notes: Mostly observed Albireo with both eyepieces trying to lock the telescope on it. I don't think I was able to do so. It is very difficult both viewing and using the red dot finder from the bottom of the upward pointing telescope. I viewed mostly the SUMMER TRIANGLE because it was over in the western sky and not overhead which seems more difficult with this telescope. While scanning around CYGNUS between Deneb and Gamma Cygni I viewed a star with a cloud around it. Could it be the Gamma Cygni Nebula (IC1318) or one of several Nebulae associated with it? I am leaning toward it being NGC6888-The Crescent Nebula. I seen one shooting star heading from south to north. I really need to get a Reflecting or Dobsonian Telescope.
