There is a serpent mound in Ohio and one in Loch Nell Scotland. I just learned that. I'm watching America Unearthed.

There is a figurine of a woman hoeing the back of a serpent. Could these serpent mounds be raised planting beds?

There is a figurine of a woman hoeing the back of a serpent. Could these serpent mounds be raised planting beds? I doubt it. The mounds weren't used in everyday activities such as gardening, unless there was a sacred form of it. This is rather doubtful, though. I don't want to make guesses about the figurine without seeing it.

I found another serpent mound in the UK called the Rotherwas Ribbon. Unfortunately it's in a bad place for conservation because someone wants to construct a road through the site. The article I linked to is from 2007 and I'm trying to find out what eventually happened.

They didn't even need that road but they built it over top of it anyway. That's a show of EVIL power at work

This site has some lovely drawings of the Ohio mount that shows it's placement in the surrounding landscape. Arc of Appalachia
