I was just thinking that drawing a picture of one of those signaling billboards may be a good easy first astronomical sketch or drawing to do?

It might be, yes.

It hit me today that for months in the news there was about a possible alien mega-structure around some star, could that be one of these signaling billboards?

That's a good possibility.

I would like to know what star that is and its characteristics?

KIC 8462852, since nicknamed "Tabby's Star" after discoverer Tabetha S. Boyajian. Now I want to know where it is located a long with its size and type?

Start here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KIC_8462852Then go to here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-type_main-sequence_starAn F-type main-sequence star (F V) is a main-sequence, hydrogen-fusing star of spectral type F and luminosity class V. These stars have from 1.0 to 1.4 times the mass of the Sun and surface temperatures between 6,000 and 7,600 K.[1], Tables VII and VIII. This temperature range gives the F-type stars a yellow-white hue. Because a main-sequence star is referred to as a dwarf star, this class of star may also be termed a yellow-white dwarf. Famous examples include Procyon A and Gamma Virginis A and B.[2] and KIC 8462852. And that is the info we need if we are going to draw a picture of what we think the structure might be in front of or around the star.

What do you think it might be, a Dyson sphere or swarm, or one of these bill boards, or something else?

It could be a huge, long cluster of asteroids, but it would be cool if it were a kind of alien billboard.

I think this is a real milestone for science in that they are saying that they don't know what it is yet and wont until they get a better look. Up until now that hasn't been the case with like everything else.

Two good examples of this off the top of my head are oil and gravity
