Just found this. UFO ChaseFirst off that is not a fighter jet it's an A-10.

It's a very old aircraft. The "A" stands for attack. Its build around a 30mm cannon. Its role is that of a tank buster and close air support. I'm glad I wasn't an aviation ordnance men on those aircraft but they probably don't load them by hand like they had us doing.

That cannon loads like our gun did but that plane has a lot bomb racks across its bottom.

My quick searches aren't finding anything on how they may reload the bomb rack now. They may have some nifty devices for it now.

When I was in the navy we mostly loaded bombs by hand where as the other services used hoists.

Well the Navy should definitely have those hoists by now. Were there some work-related injuries from loading all that without the hoists?

Oh we had hoist then but rarely used them. For speed and efficiency they had us do it by hand. We were allowed to lift up to 1,000 lbs. by hand but we went over that several times.
