I want to know more about that Hell Hound. Did they do DNA testing? Was it a known bread of dog?

I don't know, but the dogs do sound like they resemble Tibetan Mastiffs. Although these huge, hairy dogs come from a place far from Britain, I think that there's a possibility that the breed, or at least a Tibetan Mastiff mix, may have been present in other parts of the world, including western Europe.

I found some newspaper reports on the dig. They were both published back in May, 2014. I doubt that anyone plans to run DNA tests on the skeleton. What could they compare it to? To do this properly one would need a sample from either the Black Shuck or one of it's victims and that would be impossible. But, according to the Daily Mail, "Experts will subject the bones and surrounding material to 21st century dating techniques." The East Anglican Daily Times also had an interesting article on it. Leiston: Are these the bones of devil dog, Black Shuck?

Wouldn't a DNA test tell us what kind of dog it is?

I've found that there is a test to determine dog breeds, unfortunately the labs I've discovered so far only test live animals not bones. There is also a problem with degradation in older samples. I found a site with some information on DNA.
