What does that mean? Are they regrowing from last year?

Yes, sometimes tomatoes will regrow from last year's plants. Tomatillos do this, too.

We had tomatillos at the edge of the garden years ago, but the plants were removed when the family was cleaning up the property a bit. That's OK, though, we like tomatoes better.

When my sister was here yesterday she was amazed at the radish tops. I'm not seeing any sign of bulbs yet but the stems keep getting thicker. I think the greens look even better today then they did yesterday.

I have a plan for the next time that I plant lettuce. Even my fine mist knocked them down. I got some 10ml blunt tip syringes. I'm thinking of trying injection watering. Never heard of it before. Thought it up on my own. I do have a tiny bit of lettuce growing. 2/3 of it in the window box got knocked over and died but the remaining third is doing well.

I may plant one or two things tomorrow. My heat is still on. This week it might hit 90 degrees outside in which case I might die in here.

I really don't know why they'd wait so long to turn it off, but I hope that they do it promptly.

The injection watering idea is intriguing. I hope it works. Just adding water around the roots might work as well.

OMG! Check out his way for telling if the plant needs watering starting at about 18:42? How simple. Why didn't I think of that? That's how I check to see if my cornbread is done baking.

I don't understand, everyone says shallots are expensive at the store but are very easy to grow. If they are so easy to grow why are they expensive at the stores?

That is clever. Most cooks know to use a toothpick to test baked goods for done-ness, but I don't know how many gardeners use that similar trick on their pots.

I don't understand, everyone says shallots are expensive at the store but are very easy to grow. If they are so easy to grow why are they expensive at the stores? Apparently they're not that popular in this country, so there's not that much in production which leads to a higher cost in the store.
