on the hunt for ghosts in Huntingdon

It was an old house in Chatteris being renovated so she was sharing a room with her brother. Her father rushed into the room.
“My dad said, Becky, you were dreaming. My brother said, dad, she wasn’t asleep.”
Years later, the family discovered that the house had been built in the grounds of a convent.
Now Becky, and other “sensitives” from Cambridgeshire Supernatural Investigators - or CSI - are holding a ghost hunt in Huntingdon’s 18th century town Hall. It will raise money for the Mayor of Huntingdon’s Charities. The investigation will be in May and they will explore the old court rooms, the ballroom, the Mayor’s Parlour and the council chamber.
The party will split into three teams of 10 and use sound recording and night vision equipment and monitors to record any change in the electro magnetic fields. The teams will be asked to write down what they experience and compare notes later.
The event is back by popular request after a previous ghost hunt into the old court rooms in the town hall last month raised £475 for the several charities chosen this year by the Mayor, Councillor Bill Hensley.
Becky, a mother of three who works at Holywell School, said on the last ghost hunt, shadows were seen in the public gallery and some spirits answered questions about their trials. One even gave a name. The court dates back to the 1750s. However some of the wood used for the benches goes back further to the 1600s.
Becky says everyone has a sixth sense if they want to use it. The ghost hunt will be on Saturday, May 2nd overnight from 8pm to 2.30am. Tickets are £35 on sale at Huntingdon Town HALL.
