Ghosts of Idaho’s Magic Valley: Hauntings and Lore Book

CASSIA COUNTY – After officials shuttered Albion Normal School for decades, visitors often reported a “presence”, causing some to believe the old campus may be haunted.
The South Eastern Idaho Paranormal Organization (SEIPA) investigated the old campus on several occasions.
“A pair of red eyes stared at them (investigators) from behind trees several yards away. The eyes were set about seven feet off the ground, too far up to be those of a human. We thought about what it might be – a bear, a wolf, a coyote. But no way – it had to be something else . . . It scared us pretty good. That is the only time I’ve been scared by an investigation,” reported SEIPA’s Eric Aldridge.
His story is told in the book Ghosts of Idaho’s Magic Valley: Hauntings and Lore written by Andy Weeks. The book details various alleged hauntings in the Magic Valley, particularly at Albion and Oakley.
Aldridge reported hearing ghost stories about Albion as a child, proving to be the impetus to him becoming a ghost hunter. He made his first investigation in 2008 but admitted to being a bit skeptical initially.
