With space flight changing over to civilian will the reporting of UFO sighting change? In the media they have been reporting that NASA has been covering up UFO sighting for a long time. I just seen there is a private space plane getting ready to launch.

I have often wondered and said it to other people about why we were and maybe still are so transfixed on using rockets to get to space. The X-15 & SR71 flew there. Did the U-2 as well.

I was just thinking about that space elevator proposal. Could we go one better by attaching a tether to the moon and running an elevator on it. Would it keep our moon from getting further away also?

This sounds like an idea from a comic book published back in the fifties. I doubt we'd have the resources to do it, but it does sound neat.

They keep changing their definition of space and its never right. Why can't the wings get you near the top of the atmosphere then have other devises take over?

I think that I seen this from several sources over the years. I was thinking about it today. Not only would it be an elevator it should also be one hell of a power plant.

Yahoo News has a story about an elevator to a space station which might be completed by 2050 and yes, it would be able to generate solar power. Also, this article is a prime example of how important it is not to rely too much on a spell checker which can only tell you if the word is spelled correctly, not if it's the correct word. realitypod.com/2013/02/japanese-company-to-build-an-elevator-from-earth-to-space/

I could see this happening and hope that I'll still be alive when and if it does. It might occur within my lifetime.

I think that I heard it did way better then expected. Remember it broke loose and floated away.
