I have and play a bodhran. I just got a nice case and a selection of tippers for mine. I tought myself how to play Drunken Sailor on it.

Even the ones that aren't tunable are tunable. Mine is not tunable but it is. You controll the moisture by using a spraybottle or hairdryer.

The reason that I love the song DONKEY RIDING is that it has soooo much historically significant stuff like this. There is part of a verse that goes "Were you ever in Timbucktoo Where the gals are black and blue?" At one time Timbucktoo was a port and the gals being black and blue is a Tuareg reference. The Tuareg were and are black Caucasians (yes there are black Caucasians) and they policed the silk route. The traditional color they wear is blue.

The prices on those things is too rich for my blood....but I do like that Donkey riding song, or at least that version of it, I must have played that about six or seven times this morning while waiting to go to work.
