Well I just watched the show that they made about them creating synthetic life on Discovery Science and the conference after and WOW. They said this is like the 3rd big phase in humanity. The first being agriculture the second being the industrial revolution. To me it doesn't seem like they created life as much as hi-jacked it. They made the DNA but then they put it into a preexisting cell and it took it over. This should be more important then the moon landing. All of the different thing they said that could be done will really change our world as we know it like we can have meat with out getting it from animals and custom design it. Did you all watch it what did you think?

I didn't get a chance to see it last night. It sounds interesting, though. Will try to catch it later.

During the conference after I thought that it was amazing that the religious people on the panel were not opposed to it. I mean like all of the things that the Catholic church has been against and unset about over the years like the movie Avatar and Father Guido Sarducci but they are OK with the creation of synthetic life. They said that this will affect every industry there is and that this country will get back to producing something again. The head guy kept saying about how much it could be used to clean up the enviorment. It could also be used to produce fuel.

I was just thinking astronomers are always in search of "Earth like planets", this might change that a little.

It might. I do like the though that we can manufacture fuel using this technology instead of relying on drilling in fragile ecosystems. Am also surprised that the Catholic Church is not against it. What's their beef with Avatar?

Am also surprised that the Catholic Church is not against it. What's their beef with Avatar? They were upset about the people having sex with the animals.

LOL Didn't see that coming. I consider the Nav'i to be people. If they did see the Nav'i as people, they would have just gone on about the nudity. Oh, well....

Hi EBTL Don't you remember or didn't you see what they were doing with their ponytail like appendages? Don't you remember S.W. saying "Don't play with that or you'll go blind"? Besides the sex with animals there was all that stuff they were doing with souls. It is amazing how upset people in this country get about gay rights and marriage but sex with animals is OK. When Florida rescinded their bestiality laws a year or so ago no one that I know of put up a stink and they are kind of in the bible belt. The gay rights & marriage thing is a very valuable diversion tool for the monster in this country. Whenever its in the news big time look around very well because something else is going on they don't want you to see. That is why in this area, this country is so far behind most of the rest of the world. I don't know at this time how many other states did the same thing as Florida. I very strongly suspect that it is connected with there efforts to encourage tourism.

Besides the sex with animals there was all that stuff they were doing with souls. Oh, of course, the ponytail things. I saw it as a way to communicate with the animals, and nothing else. The going blind quip was just a joke on the part of S.W.'s character. Some people just take things too seriously or too literally.
