There are lots of times & places where open fires aren't a good idea or aloud and that is when its good to have a stove. After the 1977 Johnstown flood we and a lot of other people used camping stoves every day for a very long time. I got sick on Underwood Deviled Ham once back then and I still can't eat it to this day

I just made my first template ;D It will be to guide where the vent holes go on the spam can. None of the numbers would divide out right so I used folding the paper. Am I smart or what ;D

I was just doing some measuring & figuring. A can that is 3 inches high and 4 inches in diameter should make a nice pot holder. Now what comes in a can like that

I can't think of anything that would come in a can of those exact dimensions, though a large, cut-down coffee can might work. Good job on the template, too.

Well now I have 4 new different alcohol stoves that I just made. Today while shopping I'll try an find a can to make a pot stand / windscreen out of.

I got 3 different food cans to try. They might all be lined with plastic though. Maybe I should have grabbed a coffee can. Most coffee does not come in cans any more. I got a few aluminum tent pegs that should work out.

I just made this pot stand / windscreen ;D I like how it also covers part of the cup / pot. It has a lot of jaggie points on the inside and some guy at hammock forums just told me what to do about them.
