Just saw this film for the second time since it was released last year and it still stands up as the best film of any of the Batman series, and also is a good film in it's own right.
I thought I had seen the best live action portrayal of the Joker when Jack Nicholson's take in the 1989 Tin Burton film, but I was wrong, as Heath ledger was just brilliant as the Joker, and was suc[youtube]cessful in bringing out the darker side of such a creation.
The film itself was a triumph being written and directed by Christopher Nolan, who also made the Prestige another film well worth checking out if you like movies that are well made and plotted, with a few twists throughout.
I voted for excellent, and although I have yet to see the previous film Batman Begins, it did make me check out Nolan's other work, which mostly is worth the effort.
