Yeah, they think it's a swordfish's eye that a fisherman discarded. That does make sense because a predator or scavenger would most likely eat the eye along with the rest. It sounds like they still have another genetic test or two to run before being certain.

I was just talking with my sister about this and it made me think more about it. It is not solved. They just took an educated guess and their story is very hokey. To me this looks like it might end up in the category of animal mutilation.
