When I was a kid I had a book with most of these photos in it. I think I remember seeing a TV show that showed that ghost in the backseat photo to be a fake.

I never heard of that one being decided a fake, loved the story that went with that one, where they were driving from the grave of the ghost wasn't it? I did hear that the brown lady one was a hoax...read it some where on the net...ah yes..that is it: www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/photo_database/image/the_brown_lady_of_raynham/Skeptics argue that the photo does not show a ghost, but rather was the result of mundane causes such as camera vibration, afternoon light from the window above the stairs catching the lens of the camera, and double exposure. What is not known is whether these effects were produced purposefully, or if they were the accidental result of a faulty camera. Also, that Newby church photo has always looked fake to me as well...

Yeah, it's probably just a double-exposure of a church alter and some guy wearing a robe and a face-covering reminiscent of the figure's face in the Scream. The Ghost Girl in the Fire could be another case of double-exposure. Some of these could be just a case of an over-exposure of the film. The Tulip-case ghosts picture is pretty spooky, whether it is real or not.

For me the spooky one is the Amity ghost boy one, although some people believe it is actually Paul Bartz an investigator who was there that night. The camera that took the photo was left to run and snap random pictures while an investigation of the horror house was undertaken by self confirmed demon and ghost hunter Lorraine and Ed Warren. The photo was not even paid any special attention to til years later, when George Lutz's (Father of the family that lived through the Amityville horror...) secretary saw it and saw the boy there (She was pregnant at the time and also said her baby would kick her when she looked at the above photo...), and then one of the Lutz children reportedly said that the man or boy in the pic was a 'ghost' she used to play with in the house on Ocean Ave. Either way, that photo never fails to give me the creeps, although it should be nopted that this is just the low resolution version of the picture that is on the net, I have seen a clearer version, and it is less scary...a little.

Yeah, it's pretty spooky, too. Actually it was a toss up between it and the Tulip Stair Ghosts. It's amazing to think that people didn't give this Amityville photo much mind at first.

That's one of the bigger reasons that most Amity detractors cry foul on the photo, it was around for so long with the other pics from that night's investigations and no one noticed or cared.
