I did it. I just placed an order for the telescope, carry bag, filter set and a few other things.

Which one did you get?

You should get the one you want, though. I'd try to get one with a dual eyepiece so you could use both eyes at once. I just checked and those Binocular Viewers for Telescopes costs more then the telescope does that I'm going to send for. Oops, well, the telescope should work fine without it.

I'd probably get the Meade Polaris 130 EQ Reflector telescope.

I sent for the Meade Polaris 80 mm EQ Refractor. If it works out maybe in the fall I will get the other one.

When I placed my order there was some kind of strange payment method problem but I think I got it straightened out. Before long I should have my telescope. I kept trying to dream about a telescope last night but had a nightmare about my mother instead. There is some learning that I will have to do with setting it up and aligning it before I even get to using it. The next upgrade might be better eye pieces. If my scope doesn't come with them maybe I should get a few Plossl eyepieces. From what I see and hear they are like the workhorses of astronomy. www.telescope.com/Accessories/Telescope-Eyepieces/97mm-Meade-Series-4000-Super-Plossl-125-Eyepiece/pc/-1/c/3/sc/47/p/113827.utsMaybe I should get an eye patch or a pair of those red goggles?

These are the eyepieces that the telescope I ordered come with. 1.25" Eyepieces MA 6.3 mm MA 9 mm MA 26 mm 2 x Barlow Red Dot Viewfinder
See they are not Plossl eyepieces.

It is something when I think of the possible magnification of this telescope compared to my binos.

Sorry you had a nightmare last night. I hope you don't have any more of them. An eye patch or a pair of red goggles should work. I'm thinking that the eye patch should work better for observing, as well as cost less, though the goggles would cut out any white light that shows up while you're out there.

I haven't had any time to read them, myself. Can go look some up.
