Ooh, we'll have another comet show up on the 22nd. Comet Johnson will grace out night skies until the 31st.

Oh, yes the same article I linked to just above mentions that Mars has started it's opposition and will become a good planet to observe before too long.

Actually, both links I posted in this thread this morning have a good list of which planets are viewable and when.

The Weather Channel lied to me. I did look outside last night and there was a lot of clouds. They are calling for clear again tonight.

Hopefully they're right this time. I've found that weather forecasts aren't always that accurate.

I was just out with my 7x50s. Looks like a full moon. I think there may be a very thin high cloud layer or maybe its just the full moon. I could just barely see M44. There is a very bright thing not to far from the moon. If it is Jupiter I could not see its moons.

I might pop out again here soon and see if I can find M3.

The sun filter and moon filter that I ordered awhile back, along with an old scope that can be used for parts arrived, and I was able to pick them up today. I was thinking that just the parts off the tube would be good to have, but I found the main optics intact. If I can come up with some kind of adapter so we can use it with the tripod I got not too long ago, Hubby can have a telescope to use as well.
