Also, I'm wondering if people pull the cart thing to keep people from getting too close while they're using their debit and credit cards. Or they're tired of other people's carts bumping into them. Carrying the groceries back to the cart is extra work and it's possible that people have a reason for doing it. People sorting their purchases at the checkout counter may be on a budget, but I agree that they should find a way to do their sort before they get there. There should be a way that they can estimate the cost of their groceries while they shop. There used to be a kind of counter-thingy that people used to use for this. Can't remember what it's called right now, though. My mother always used a paper and a pen and kept track of things. People do sometimes over crowd you when its time to try an pay but that is no reason or excuse for blocking the conveyer belt with their cart.

I can see and feel the need arising in the near future for a new term similar to that of road rage. I can see others taking actions against these jerks and jacking them up. Something like that might lead to more police encounters, too. Probably the only way this has of stopping is for that to happen and get on the news.

I can't help but start to wonder what insane thing someone is going to do in front of me in the checkout line next?

Hopefully it won't be too insane.
