Looks like gators can tolerate much lower temps then people think. There is a gator farm in Idaho. I also see it on a TV show years ago. Make me wonder why they never expanded there range north until maybe now? These gators are "LIVING IN THEIR OWN PRIVATE IDAHO" ZXfXaYc

The government / military was behind the propagation and stocking of bears here and probably coyotes to. They possibly could have something to do with the gators also.

I'm not sure why they'd stock gaters. I doubt that Pennsylvania was ever their natural habitat, so it wouldn't be a matter of re-introducing animals 'back to their old stomping grounds'. The only reason I can think of this morning would be that the government wants to keep people out of certain areas. You'd think that they'd know better, though. Also, I found an interesting page on alligators: Habitat Tracker - Alligators

You hit the nail right on the head. The government does take mearsures to discurage people from going in the woods. The government is probably the most scared of the american people.

Somebody dumped a few goldfish in a Colorado lake several years ago and now they have taken it over.
