I only know a few things in the sky but would like to know more. I remember looking through a neighbor's telescope at different things when I was a kid and it was fascinating and stuck with me.

What do you like about it? Well, the beautiful pictures, for one thing. Some of the other planets and extraterrestrial objects out there can be very interesting as well.

At first it seem like a Maksutov-Cassegrain design would suit me best and then I learned they take a long time to cool down. I may start with just a star chart and my binoculars and monocular.

Today I seen a DVD in the $5 bin at Walmart and bought it. It's called THE ALIEN FILES. It has 4 movies on it. NIGHT SKIES, ALIEN HUNTER, GHOST OF MARS, and THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED. The only one I remember seeing is the Ghosts of Mars. I am going to hold on to it and watch it after my surgery.

I should look them up. Also, think I'll start a fresh chat thread.
