The one knock about the K9 series has been the lack of John Leeson as the voice of the robotic dog, but now it appears he will be doing the voice after all.
From Kasterborous:
In what has been seen as a positive move to improve reception of the much-derided Doctor Who spin off series starring a revised version of former robot dog companion K-9, the producers have cast John Leeson!
K-9 is back, and so is John Leeson...Revealed in Doctor Who Magazine 411, reveals that John Leeson returns the role of voicing the robot dog over 32 years after first taking the part.
The plot of the new K-9 series sees the classic version - as seen currently in 2006's School Reunion and The Sarah Jane Adventures - destroyed and rebuilt in upgraded, streamlined anti-grav form.
Early rumours suggested that Leeson would voice only the older version of K-9. However DWM also reports that the actor - who appeared in Doctor Who as K-9 between 1977-1981 (with a small gap in alte 1979) - will appear throughout the 26-episode series, voicing the redesigned character when the series airs in Australia in early 2010!
