I might be on to something!
I was just sent an email about Youtube sponsership.
People are going to start being sponsered on Youtube and you don't have to be already famous.
Can we make a show for Youtube and have the board as part of it?
I thought of a name already (don't want to disclose it in the open yet).
Even with our current limited membership look how well we cover the country.
I bet the ones of us that aren't fool enough to get in front of a camera have something to help in other ways.

First off that is a wonderful idea Snap, as You Tube is (And hopefully remains...) a great resource to share information with people through the use of video. That said, personally I don't have time for such a project, if I'm ever going to complete the US Doctor Who site and this forum, but if anyone else does this I will try to help out as much as I can... I'd still love to hear the name you came up with out of curiosity, and if you do decide to do a video of this kind, I'd be proud to help as I said and also help promote it in any way I can... I think Sherlew also might have a thing or two to say, this site here is as much hers as mine....  |

I'd say that we need to get more in the way of an active membership before this would really work.
Also, I'm not equipped to do anything on camera, or have any experience. If we can get this going, I'll see what I can do to help otherwise, though.

So friends, should we start looking into how to promote the forum, or can we bring in some PPL to help us continue to do starter posts? I am currently almost done thinking of a simple forum starter layout, but it might look bare with just three pages of stuff to spread out between them, so should we just wait a bit or start to create more of the forum now? They say that with forums slow and steady wins the race but I also think we need a couple more posters as well.  |

A couple more posters or so would definitely help. I'm going to finish making my new signature with a link to this site this morning and add it to my profile on all the boards where I post. Perhaps it will help attract more members.
If anyone wants help with a similar siggy, just let me know.
Perhaps we should wait a bit longer before changing the forum layout until we have more to put into different forums.
What did you have in mind as to how the board should be promoted?

The promotion is a bit of a problem, but I can submit the URL to Google and Yahoo, put a You Tube video up (Not a show like Snap's good idea, just some music and the url and a link to here in the vid description. ), and the sigs are a great idea as well.
Besides that, it gets rather hard. as we don't have a 'niche' as s stated to us by the Admin Forum guys...

Just submitting the url to Google and Yuku now might help, and figuring out a simple Youtube video might be fun.

Another thing to be decided is for how long the longer threads like Word Assoc and General Chat are allowed to go to in pages and or posts. Any ideas? |
