I guess it's time to start thinking about what I want for my birthday. I save up for whatever it is plus add the money that I get for my birthday to it. Should I go on collecting mandolins I would like a new lover I would like to get a cheap guitar and shop around for lesson taking a few here and there but I would like to do that before my birthday.

It's up to you what you want to buy, Don. Sorry that I can't help in the new lover department.

World peace. Nah, get a cheap Fender Strat single coil pickup model. Not to pry, but where do you work to get all the money for all this stuff, if you don't mind me asking?

As I said, I don't mean to pry, sorry if the phrasing 'all this stuff' seemed rude.

The acoustic guitar I pick out at M.F. is $150. The acoustic guitar that I like at the mall is $188. The electric guitar that I'm looking at is a Devlin Speedking Series 6-Strings Double Cutaway Electric Guitar In Green Flame Finish is $319. All of my mandolins are cheap. Some cost more then others but all are considered cheap as far as mandolins go and I didn't get them all at the same time. I saved for a long time for each one of them. I am O.I. (listed).

The electric guitar sounds nice. Does it come with an amp or would you have to buy one?
What does O.I. mean?

The electric guitar does come with a case and a 10 year warranty O.I. means Oppressively Impoverished. I'm being held as an object of select indigence, supposedly a cowed jack-a-lent to the preferred and privileged.

Ah, I see. Doubt that you've been cowed, though.
Also, considering all the stuff the government's up to here lately, I'd just go for an acoustic guitar and try to save some money. It's really up to you, though.
