Perhaps we have posted about this before, I'm not sure. Isn't the Golden Gate bridge the number one spot in the U.S.? Fortunately there have been a huge effort to prevent suicides on this bridge.

According to this article, there are networks in place to identify those contemplating suicide and people can text 741741 to talk to someone. I'm still looking for statistics.

It seems like a top location for an advanced predator to procure its quarry. Hell it even seems like a good hunting ground for a modern serial killer.

The choice of a net seems mostly to do with aesthetics. It's also another possibility that a fence may affect the bridge's integrity, especially a bridge that is in an area with high winds. Here's another article on this.

I was just doing some checking and it looks like there are parks on both sides of the bridge. The Golden Gate National Recreation Area on one side and PRESIDIO on the other. Is PRESIDIO a park?
