It was my starting year so I had many good ones. The first thing I'd seen that kicked off astronomy for me was the planet Jupiter and its moon. It really knocked my socks off but I'm not going to list that as my best sighting. I'm going to say it was that nebula that I came a cross on my own which I believe might be the Crescent Nebula. I can't wait to relocate it and verify it with certainty.

Seeing Jupiter and it's biggest moons was the highlight for me. Splitting Albireo and getting a close look at Sirius were two others.
I also found myself humming "I'm a Little Teapot" while observing Sagittarius. Silly, I know.

How did you split Albireo?

Using my binoculars. This was before the telescope.

Have you been able to do anything with the telescope?

I had a chance to look a Sirius and a few others stars though it while trying it out, but some clouds scudded up and I decided to call it a night. I am looking forward to using it this year, though.
