Yes, humidity does make cold days feel colder.

I did get a chance to do a bit of observation tonight, even though the moon was out. Wasn't sure what I'd be able to view, but did get a good look at Sirius, Orion and even the Orion Nebula. That was quite a surprise. Think I'll get a new finder scope and think about a better chair, though. The one I have is kind of low.

That's GREAT that you got to do some star gazing. Are you talking about a chair to use with your binoculars or telescope?

I just had my telescope out last night since I wanted more practice with it, but a better chair would be good for both.

Are you going to get a finder scope or another red dot finder?

I'm not sure yet which one I'll get.

Looks like there might be a clear night or two this week end. I want to put a telescope on M46.

Been wondering if I should get a motor drive for my MEADE Polaris?

It would be cool to have.
I've decided to stay with the red dot finder I have for now. Have been looking at chairs that would be good for astronomical observation, but haven't found anything I like for the price I want yet.

I was just out with my MEADE Infinity 60mm AZ Refractor Telescope with a 26mm eyepiece that gave me 31x. Hoping to view M46. Not the clearest night. There is some clouds around and the moon was blazing not to far away. Located Sirius easy enough but could not locate the other stars I need to navagate to M47. Tried roaming around in the area hoping to find it but it didn't happen

The moon and clouds really do get in the way, don't they. I was surprised that I was able to see what I did Sunday night.

I think there was that really thin layer of very high up clouds. I wasn't seeing as many stars as I should have been.

Looks like it might be clear tonight. Will I be able to catch M46?
