So my list for tonight will be Castor & Pollux (which I should be able to see at the same time in my binos), M35, and M44 the Beehive Cluster.

She said GEMINI is west of ORION but it's east. Oops Probably just a slip of the tongue.

If the clouds go away I will.

Think I located Castor & Pollux close to my zenith and difficult to look at. Wasn't able to find M35 & M44 If it would be warm enough out for me to use my zero gravity chair I probably would have found them.

Probably, I just know that I wouldn't want to be out there too long at your evening temperatures. Sorry that you weren't able to find the rest.

I was only out for like 10 minutes. I think I'm just going to be a fare weather astronomer. From what I heard both M35 & M44 should be visible with my binoculars.

Just nailed M47 with my 10x50 binos. I used Sirius and the tip of CANIS MAJOR'S ear (Gamma Canis Majoris) to point to it. I could see the exact stars that set probably in front of it but could not see the the cluster with these binos. I'll have to try my 15x70 binos.

Just went out to see if I could get M81. It a tree and a strip of cloud are all in a bad location right now.

They can just gang up sometimes. Sorry you didn't have much luck this time.

The long term forecast doesn't look good for clear skys. If I get a chance I'll try an use my 15x70 binos & monopod to view M46 & M47.
