Yes, I started a thread on it. Looks like it'll be cloudy over here, though. I hope you get to see it.

I just poked my head out the door and I seen the moon, Venus, and Mars.

Sherlew when are we going to get back to doing real outside astronomy?

Hopefully before too long. The temps are going to go back down to freezing again over here very quickly tonight, but it shouldn't be too bad tomorrow night. Our current temperature is about 28 degrees right now.

I just got back. Ours is 24 and normally that isn't cold but today it is. I think the humidity is up making it a wet cold (the worst kind of cold).

Yeah it is. We tend to have high humidity as well.

Did you see they named an asteroid after Lenard Nemoy?

Looked out the door at 7:10 am. Seen the moon and what was either a star or planet. It was already getting light. If it was a star it had to be a bight one. The brightest star on my planisphire around that area is Spica.

Being that it was in the western sky in the morning I don't think it could have been Venus. Could it have been Jupiter?

Just looked up Jupiter in NIGHTWATCH and it is in Virgo so that could have been what I seen.

I'm thinking my next order may be some astronomy stuff. I'm thinking of getting a light pollution filter to try. Are they just for long exposure photography or do they help with viewing also?

They should help with viewing as well.
