It may, How fast is your computer and how much memory does it have? I don't know or can't remember but I got it for the purpose of making videos.

Ah, I just remembered a little program we used to use in school to find out what hardware and software a computer had. It's a bit different now, but should be helpful. It's called Belarc Advisor.

Uh, I just realized that this may or may not work with a Windows 10 system.

Well, do you still have the user's manuals / guides that came with the computer? There should be something in the usual paper parade that comes along with the computer.

Hopefully this will also tell you if you have a 3D graphics card in your system, along with the CPU speed and amount of RAM memory.

Ah, I found a program that can support Windows 10 computers, as well as the older ones. CPU-Z 1.75

What exactly do Amateur Astronomers do? Are they like bird watchers that try to see and log as many different birds as they can?

Kind of, I think that they also help track asteroids. You're computer should have enough CPU speed and RAM to handle the astronomy software. If you have a 3D graphics card you should be good to go. I've found the specs for Stellarium. A lot of the other programs will probably have similar requirements. My netbook's CPU is only a single core 1.66 Gb Intel Atom Processor and has a 2D graphics card, but it does have 2 Gb of RAM.

The impression I was getting is that you might not need much because their site and stuff does it. You log in and have you own section. Those French scopes want like $100 an hour.

That Stellarium is a planetarium and not a telescope.

That Stellarium is a planetarium and not a telescope. I didn't say that it was a telescope. I was looking at astronomy programs for the computer as well as the online telescope sites.
