Has anyone else noticed or experienced customers at Walmart doing more and new incredibly wrong things when they are checking out? I have got to tell you that I really have. The change seems to have taken place relatively quickly. I really started noticing it about 6 to 8 months ago.

I hardly go to the Walmart in my town, but the few times I've been there I haven't noticed anything unusual in the customer's behavior.

What have these people been doing in the Walmart over where you live, Don?

What have these people been doing in the Walmart over where you live, Don? Well the latest on was on Saturday. The lady in front of me in line collected several of the same items in her cart and bought them to the checkout line and only when it was her turn to check out with her stuff on the belt did she pick and chose which ones she wanted to buy and which she didn't.

I'm guessing that they really slow things down.

The one that infuriates me the most so far (and I've ran into it more then once) is the people that don't advance their carts properly. You load the stuff from your cart onto the conveyer belt and after doing so you move your cart down to the bag loading carousel and reload your cart with your full bags. Well now there are people being total dicks that leave their cart sitting at the conveyer belt and bring their full bags of stuff back up to their cart and load it there thus blocking whoever is behind them in line (me) from putting their stuff on the belt for check out and wasting a hell of a lot of other peoples time.

Ah yes, extremely annoying indeed. Also, I didn't see your next to last post before posting earlier.

I'm thinking that the employees there might mitigate part of this by telling people to move their carts to the loading end of the checkout counter.

That's OK. When you first seen this thread did you think it was going to be about people with more then 20 items in the 20 item or less lines? I run into that all the time.

I haven't seen that very much over here. It wasn't one of my guesses, but then I was waiting to see what you posted about it.

I can see and feel the need arising in the near future for a new term similar to that of road rage. I can see others taking actions against these jerks and jacking them up.

Also, I'm wondering if people pull the cart thing to keep people from getting too close while they're using their debit and credit cards. Or they're tired of other people's carts bumping into them. Carrying the groceries back to the cart is extra work and it's possible that people have a reason for doing it.
People sorting their purchases at the checkout counter may be on a budget, but I agree that they should find a way to do their sort before they get there. There should be a way that they can estimate the cost of their groceries while they shop. There used to be a kind of counter-thingy that people used to use for this. Can't remember what it's called right now, though.

I'm thinking that the employees there might mitigate part of this by telling people to move their carts to the loading end of the checkout counter. I've thought of that also but this is Johnstown and the way that things should be is almost always not the way they are. Its kind of like with those posted what not to do on the bus signs that are in busses. There use to be 3 signs no smoking, no radio playing, and no food or drink. They changed them on the new busses to just 2 signs no smoking and no knives or guns. I have seen more people wearing large sheath knives on their belts on busses after they changed the signs and the bus drivers don't stop them.
