I found and bought another kind of ramen noodle cooker today at Giant Eagle. This one is from good cook and is called Instant Noodle Maker. It makes the ramen noodles that come in those Styrofoam cups. You can measure and boil the water in it (you can't put the Styrofoam they come in into a microwave). There is a better cover to cover it with while it cooks and it is easier to hold and more stable when you set it down. Good Cook Instant Noodle Maker

The Ramen Noodle cooker that I have been using is from www.rapidramen.com. It is made to cook the ramen noodles that come in packages. I also make cream of wheat in mine. Rapid Ramen CookerI have their mac & cheese cooker also. Didn't care to much for the results. Might give it a try as a mold for my cornmeal mush.

This is what I bought today. He didn't read the instructions or warnings. You are suppose to completely remove the paper lid and you are only suppose to boil water in that cup. Those cutouts are not for sipping. They are obviously for inserting and removing the Styrofoam cup.

Can't say that I'd ever buy one of these. Don't like the thought of cooking in plastic. Also, I'd watch the sodium content on the Ramen Noodles. Do they make a low sodium version?

That noodle cooker that I bought today is for the Styrofoam cup noodles and they stopped making them. They should have sold it to me for next to nothing.

You can just use as much of the seasoning pac as you want or as I did in the past you can use whatever broth or stock you want.

Using the chopsticks as a clip and the lid as a drip and cooling bowl are great ideas.

I am taking my new Good Cook instant noodle maker with me today when I go to visit my mother and try it for the first time for lunch. The other plus for this one is that when you are finished nothing is dirty. All of the stuff that get dirty get disposed of. I was wondering if it would fit into my backpack because it is so large? I tried it and it does but just barely. I am taking a cup of Maruchan Instant Lunch Chicken Flavor with me today for lunch. When I pass Walmart on my way back home I will buy a few other kinds of noodle cups.
