They are flower pin-wheel whirlly-gig thingees that people put in their gardens or lawns. I bought them at the dollar store. I am going to remove the flowers and use the stems to steak up my plants.

Yeah, if the dollar store doesn't have shish kabob skewers these would work.

If you mean bamboo skewers I do have some of them. They are 12 inches. That might not be long enough. They are actually a great survival item. I tweeked my windowsil grow light again to get it into proper placement and I watered my plants tonight.

You can tell now that more then one type of thing has come up from my mesclun. I found some marshmallow steaks that are 32 inches that should work great.

I water my plants on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Wednesday is the day I fertilize them. I water them right before I put them to bed. I think there biggest growth sperts happen after I water them through the night.

Tonight is watering night and I'm thinking about staking and tying up my big Serrano pepper. I am trying to figure out how I want to do that.

I just watered my plants. I measured the serrano plant and it is just under 5 inches. Should they be a certain height before you tie them to a steak? I didn't do it yet.

Actually, from what I'm reading online you may not need to stake these until they're pretty tall. To Stake or Not to StakeAlso, you might find this page helpful. It mentions something called damping-off disease.

My peppers are still growing like crazy and my chives are starting to do better. The mesclun seems to be going slow. Still waiting on the second sets of leaves.

That link keep shutting down my internet. Funny, I checked both links with Mcafee Siteadvisor. Both should be safe. Do other links do this? Your browser's cache may need to be emptied.
