I just learned about rejuvelac. It seems like it would be very good to drink after taking antibiotics.

I didn't see or hear anything. I didn't see it pop, but could hear a very soft sound. They should have had the camera over the pan for this one. Try the video again with the sound turned up.

My first batch of sprouts is now stored in the fridge. I tried them a few time this evening and I'm not dead yet. They said they have a peppery taste but I don't think that's the best way to describe it. I would say they have a slight radish taste. I left mine sprout for 3 day which may have been a little to long. This is my first time and I'm just learning. Next time I might cut it back to 2 days. Someone did say to try them at the different stages to see which you like best. Looks like with sprout timing is kind of critical.

Yes it is. They should be fine, though. Many people recommend cooking them first, too.

I did a test this evening. I boiled some of my lentil sprouts for 5 minutes. It did remove a lot of the radish taste. A lot of the recipes add intense flavor things to them. While shopping today I found mung beans and amaranth. I was able to get the mung beans but not the amaranth because of a long check out line that wasn't moving.

Ah, it sounds like cooking the lentils improves them in more ways than one. I hope that you'll be able to get the amaranth later. I think that there's some at my local co-op and I'm curious to try it.

I bought some EVOO & lemon juice to try an make some dressing with. From what I have read I kind of get the impression that lemon juice might be a key secret. Sherlew you have instruction that came with your sprouter and instructions on your lentil pac and online instructions and none of them match up. If your lentil pac is like mine it says about soaking them in a big bowl after sprouting them to remove the hulls. I tried that and nothing happened. I think you're suppose to do that with other beans or seeds but not lentils.

The instructions with your sprouter don't really say about using the crenelations at the top of the sprouter. They were designed so the inner sieve will sit up higher for better ventilation and drainage. The inner sieve has projection that you use in conjunction with the crenelation for resting it higher.

Ah, thanks for the tip. The instructions should have included this as well.

I got the EVOO & Lemon Juice to make a dressing to put on them but I think that I did hear somewhere about using lemon juice or something to help with the sprouting of something. I got this contain for mixing my dressing in. www.evriholder.com/Dressing-2-Go.aspI can sterilize the EVOO in it by putting it in the microwave. I learned this the hard way when I first started using olive oil and I'm passing it a long to you and I bet you wont find it mentioned anywhere else.

See how you can set it for ventilation and draining?
