I seen a TV show about this a week or so ago.

It more then just cell phones. They have patrol vehicles that actively search for things emitting signals. They have arrested things like electric blankets. No spark plugs ether. The closer you get to the telescope the more strict things get.

Yeah, anything that would produce an emf field would be banned near the radio telescope.
