The symbols could mean just about anything. It is fun to guess, though.

I don't think so. I think they are meant to be specific. Whoever "they" are they are more advanced then us and I think it makes good sense to use Ts as indicators of distances within set parameters.

I didn't mean that they weren't specific, just that their meaning is difficult to know.

I think the 3rd symbol from the left is kind of like a stick man with emphasis on the legs. A bipedal humanoid maybe representing us humanity.

Yes, it does look humanoid.

The last symbol from the left or first symbol from the right most represents to me a military type target of a person that we use. This is what raises a red flag for me. Used in conjunction with the adjoining symbol it makes sense and is part of the message that Jim received when he touch the vehicle.

I just watched this episode of Paranormal Witness again on demand and if you step back to try an get a bigger picture of what was going on it looks to me like a classic tactical maneuver. What was going on in the woods was meant to be a destruction, a diversion to get the focus of attention there. Then the other craft moved in over the weapons lockers. The big question is what did it do there? Did it steal the nukes? Did it deactivate them some how?

I may have misread the stacked "Ts" somewhat. This planet does have 2 discernible atmospheres. It could be like an aerospace submersible. I was trying to find the proper term but it looks like none exists yet because we don't have such a thing yet.

I rather like that interpretation.

The abbreviation for Aero Space Submersible is funny as hell. I tried altering the word amphibious a few time but that didn't seem to work out.

I guess it wasn't meant to be, then.

Can you come up with something to call a vehicle that can travel through outer space, air, and water?

I'm still working on a term for this as well.
