Dratted paint. I hope that your idea of a white base coat works, good luck with it. I guess one thing to do with the shirts that really don't turn out is to save them for test patches, or something like that for future projects.

This is my test shirt. That white patch is were I just applied 2 coats of white paint. When its dry I will try putting the metallic green paint on it. Oddly enough if you look to the left you can see a patch of the green metallic paint that I did when I bought the paint and it look how it should but it is stiff (no textile medium). You can see where I tested some markers and the juggler who let me know that I was really on to something.

I just put a coat of the mixed metallic green paint on top of the white paint and some on a near by on an untreated spot. Its looking like it worked. I peeled the first stencil off of the Flatwoods monster this morning. I was surprised I thought there would be flairs but there was none. The edges are sharp and perfect. I'm going to carry on with it. The body is just going to be solid silver glitter mostly.

Just looking at it, it seems to be working better.

Can you see on the untreated spot the colored paint soaked into the fabric leaving the silver glitter on the surface. On the treated patch the colored paint can stay on top of the glitter and it looks how it should.

Yeah, I saw that. It was quite obvious. This is a very clever idea for fixing the problem.

I still have more to do on it. There is the possibility that I could screw it up in some other way but that's how it always goes.

Yes and on the other hand, things may go just fine with the rest.
