My makeshift clipboard light table worked great last night. I got my first stencil cut out of freezer paper and part of the second stencil (they are not the same design). I read the iron instructions and they said that the first few times you heat the iron up it is going to smoke a little so today with some windows open I'm going to heat it up a few times. If this all goes great and I want to keep stenciling T-shirts I came up with a few ideas for designs.

That's great, glad to hear that these ideas are working.

I though that crop circles would be good to do but I only found one so far that is simple enough I also thought about Thunderbird designs and I see a few of them.

Those might work a bit better. Too bad you're having to limit the crop circle designs. They would be neat. Maybe you can find a simple, yet elegant crop circle that would work well for this.

Like I said I did find one crop circle so far but there has to be more.

I just used my new iron and ironed a freezer paper stencil onto a T-shirt then applied the first coat of white paint. I am letting it dry for a bit then I am going to give it a second coat. On the shorts that I am painting stars on one coat seems good but T-shirt fabric is different. My worry now is bleeding.

Bleeding underneath the stencil, or during a wash later?

I found a lot on controlling bleeding while stenciling. At least one of these links should help. link

Bleeding underneath the stencil, or during a wash later? Either. It looks like the stencil stuck down good. I will be peeling off the stencil soon.

I peeled off the stencil and it turned out well. There was a very tiny bit of bleeding on one of the clubs. I think that might be because I used to much paint on the first coat. The next one I do should be better.

It looks like you just need to wait 72 hours before washing. linkAlso, Michael's has some good general tips for fabric painting. I don't know if these would be useful or not, but though I'd add them. link
